Has anyone have the urge to make a better Christian game? I have been pondering making one for years. I am a hobby programmer (Java, C++ and VB6) which means I teach myself the language and implement it into what I create. I have the idea of making an RPG for Christians that appeals to kids today and adults. What do you all think?

It's something I've been thinking about as well - but don't have the time or skills currently to do it (I'm studying CS).

I know people have tried it before, but it's never really worked out well. I bet it could, though, if you approached it right. I see the biggest problem being what kind of subject material you'd use. The most "real" games are the most entertaining, but "real" and "religious" tend to work against each other, as it's very easy to step over that line from "realistic" to "too real".

Idk, I like the RPG idea though. Perhaps you could play as a Jewish citizen in the time of Jesus. It'd kind of be cool to travel town to town, trying to help out others and "level up" your spiritual cultivation. You could even have various arcs and missions, where you can go the "evil route" and become a pharisee/tax collector/ect., or you could go the good route, helping others, following Jesus, or even becoming an actual Disciple. Idk, I think you could go a lot of places with it.

I think this is something we should keep in mind for the long haul, but if something is done about this, it shouldn't be something lame, but something as good action, direction and quality wise as the best sellers these days.

I don't necessarily think real and spiritual(separating spiritual and religious) will work against each other, depending on how it's done.

I think this is possible, the biggest barrier is finding the funding and the people to do it.

This is what I have in mind... An RPG where you are an angel, could be Michael or not... Doesn't matter. The devil is sending minions to earth to start the apocalypse early and put everything into play. Your job is to hunt the minions while trying not to alarm the humans.. There are those that believe and help the cause. Game uses military weapons and medieval ones... What do you think?

why not have an mmo where every now and then you see jesus walking and teaching as in those times
